Avengers star rumored to appear in Captain America 4 (sadly, no it’s not Chris Evans)

When Anthony Mackie next suits up as Captain America, it seems he’ll be joined by an original Avengers star — just not the one you might be hoping for.
Ever since the events of Avengers: Endgame, there has been a passing of the torch within the MCU with many of the original Avengers gradually being phased out of the MCU as other heroes have stepped into the spotlight.
The best example of this passing of the torch — or should we say shield? — has come with the departure of Chris Evans as Captain America and the mantle being taken up by Anthony Mackie’s Falcon.
After an iconic run in the MCU, Evans stepped away from the franchise in Endgame we got the chance to see Mackie come to terms with accepting his destiny of becoming the next Captain America in Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Now that Sam has accepted his place as the new Captain America, he’ll lead the next Captain America film. While he might not be an original Avenger himself, it does seem that Sam is going to have some help from at least one OG member of the Avengers.
Are the Avengers going to be in Captain America 4?
Although it remains unclear what role the Avengers might play in the upcoming fourth Captain America film, Captain America: Brave New World, it does seem that there will be at least one Avengers reunion within the movie.
Rumors are circulating online that Mark Ruffalo will be returning to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the upcoming film, which will mark the first time fans will see Hulk and Captain America back together since Avengers: Endgame.
Considering that Captain America: Brave New World will feature Harrison Ford in the role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, who is expected to become Red Hulk, it makes sense that Sam’s Cap would need to call upon a Hulk of his own to level the playing field.
What will be interesting is to see how large of a role Ruffalo might have in the film and whether he’ll be joined by any other Hulks, such as Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk. Regardless, it’ll be exciting to see Hulk and Captain America back together again in the MCU!
