12 most polarizing DC characters ranked
2. Batman
Okay, so I get it. He isn’t the most hated by villain standards. Bruce Wayne has an amazing story. He’s a billionaire playboy by day and a crime-fighting ninja by night. What’s not to love? His gadgets, his smarts, and that whole brooding hero thing. Plus, he’s got the best villains to spar with. Whether he’s Bruce or Batman, he’s the guy we all secretly want to be.
So yeah he’s a hero, but he’s not without his haters. For starters, his supposed genius sometimes feels more like a plot convenience. He rounds up villains, only to watch them break out again and again – it’s like he’s got revolving doors in Arkham.
And speaking of the Joker, remember that time he made Batman laugh? Yeah, that happened. But maybe the most divisive thing is his fans. The whole “Prep Time” thing can get under people’s skin – it’s like Batman always has a solution up his utility belt, no matter what.
Look around social media, and you’ll easily find scenarios. For example, Batman fans would tell you that he can beat Thanos with all the Infinity Stones if he has “Prep Time.” You’ll find posts about him defeating Vegeta and Goku with, you guessed it, “Prep Time.” It’s insane, and why the Dark Knight is on this list.
