9. Booster Gold

Everyone has run into that person who just can’t stop talking about themselves — that’s Booster Gold. Fans might see his flashy suit and think “cool hero,” but let’s be honest – he’s not exactly winning any popularity contests. Booster is a walking, talking billboard for self-centeredness, and that’s not the kind of heroism that gets people cheering.

Sure, he’s got a backstory that’s worth a glance – a washed-up athlete from the future trying to find his moment of glory in the past. But even with the whole “from-the-future” angle, Booster Gold just can’t seem to rise above his narcissistic tendencies. It’s like he’s got a “look at me” sign permanently hanging around his neck.

Heroes are supposed to be relatable, right? Well, good luck finding common ground with a guy whose ego could rival Kayne’s. It’s hard to root for someone who’s more focused on their own image than the greater good. True, he does truly stumble upon some fantastic hero acts, but that’s it — he stumbles.

So, yeah, Booster Gold might have his moments, and his flashy suit does catch the eye, but underneath all that glitz and glam, he’s just not the most likable character. Maybe he needs a lesson or two in humility before he can truly win over fans. Until then, he’s stuck in that “not quite there” category.
