Is Superman and Lois canceled? (Will there be a Superman and Lois season 4?)
By Cody Schultz
With so many CW shows ending, fans have begun to question whether Superman and Lois is ending as well or if it’s still coming back.
The tension within The CW fandom at the moment is palpable. Ever since the network was sold to Nexstar, the new leadership has been clearing the slate leading to the cancellation of several beloved CW original series which had long been a staple of the network.
Most recently, Nancy Drew and Riverdale ended their respective four and seven season runs on The CW making the shows the latest in a growing list of CW shows to be canceled by the network.
With the end of two additional fan-favorite CW shows, there has been a resurgence of fear among fans who are unsure what the future holds for their favorite series. This includes Superman and Lois, which is now the remaining DC Comics series on the network’s roster following the cancellation of Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Gotham Knights, and The Flash.
Is Superman and Lois canceled?
Superman and Lois fans can rejoice as the beloved DC series has been given another season, promising at least one more season of thrilling adventures ahead for the show. Although the renewal came down to the wire, The CW did end up renewing Superman and Lois for a 10-episode fourth season which is set to air in 2024.
Beyond the fact that season 4 has been ordered, little is known about the season outside of the fact that it will be the show’s shortest season-to-date and will see many of the show’s series regulars appearing in fewer episodes due to cast changes.
It’s also been confirmed that season 4 will not arrive until sometime in 2024, due in part to the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes which prevent production from beginning on new seasons of scripted series such as Superman and Lois.
We don’t yet know whether season 4 will be the show’s last, but we do know The CW is not yet ruling out a potential fifth season of the show so long as ratings remain strong.
