The future is bright, and possibly “Quinntastic” as Margot Robbie is rumored to return to DCU as Harley Quinn. But could Gal Gadot return as Wonder Woman?
Though we’re all a little shaken up and, quite frankly, confused with DC’s apparent decision of not making another Wonder Woman movie with Gal Gadot anymore, there’s another rumor that’s keeping us afloat amid all the suspense.
Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe, might just be gearing up to make an appearance in the brand-spanking-new DC Universe, as it’s rumored that James Gunn and Peter Safran are planning to bring Harley Quinn back as part of their new timeline of DC superhero movies and shows.
Robbie first appeared as Harley Quinn back in 2016’s Suicide Squad and made the character her own. Her portrayal was so magnetic that she quickly became a favorite in the DC universe. It would make complete sense for Gunn and Safran to be sure to include her in their ambitious DCU project. While this isn’t confirmed just yet, the buzz was initiated by a tweet from insider MyTimeToShineH.
When can we expect to see Harley Quinn again in the DC Universe?
Timing, darlings, is everything.
As of now, DC Studios has a few exciting projects in the works. Superman: Legacy will be kicking off the new universe, and the upcoming The Brave and the Bold will be reintroducing Batman.
Given her ties to the Batman stories, it probably wouldn’t be that much of a stretch to speculate that Harley could pop up in The Brave and the Bold or sometime after that.
Eyes are peeled and ears are perked for any official word on Margot Robbie’s return as Harley Quinn. For now, it’s all speculation, hopeful wishing, and rumors. Still, given the energy and flavor Robbie brings into the role, her return would definitely add another layer of excitement and unpredictability to the DCU.
