The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 updates: Everything we know so far
While there hasn’t been any official word on the status or release date for Vox Machina season 3, here is everything we know about it so far.
Hold onto your dice, Critters!
The Legend of Vox Machina was announced at the New York Comic-Con panel in October 2022 – with the news coming out before the amazing second season had even made its debut. Clearly, Prime Video knows a critical hit (hehe) when they see one.
There are a lot of details surrounding season 3 that can be summed up to speculation at this point. There hasn’t been an official release date for season 3 so far, but here’s what we can gather from rumors and leaks. Last Updated: August 31, 2023.
Vox Machina season 3 release date predictions
Vox Machina season 3 could likely debut around January 2024, considering the nearly year-long gap between the first and second seasons. Good news for fans concerned about the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike: there’s no fear of the production stalling for season 3. The series falls under the animation umbrella, which is governed by separate guilds and spared from what I like to call The Waiting.
Vox Machina season 3 cast
You can definitely expect Matt Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, and Sam Riegel to come back and reprise their iconic characters for season 3.
As far as guests, we’re not sure yet. In the two previous seasons, we were treated with David Tennant and Stephanie Beatriz, and while the list of guest stars hasn’t been revealed, the anticipation feels a lot like waiting to see if you roll a nat 20 on that crucial saving throw. On Baldur’s Gate 3.
Cree Summer will likely back as Raishan. Given that Raishan has now revealed her intentions, the dynamic between her and Vox Machina in the upcoming season is promising.
What part of the Vox Machina campaign will be covered in season 3?
The Chroma Conclave arc, as confirmed by the
Dungeon Master Daddy
amazingly talented voice actor and Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer, can be expected to continue. Mercer himself said that this arc is a big, sprawling narrative not easily contained in a single season. Season 2 ended on a high note, setting the stage for a promising showdown. Vox Machina is in an unconventional alliance with Raishan, one of the dragons from the Chroma Conclave, which will definitely not go down well with Thordak – who is likely to continue his role as the main villain of season 3. However, with the late Lance Reddick having voiced Thordak, it’s also likely that we may see a recast of the character.
As Travis Willingham, the voice of Grog Strongjaw, teased: seasons 2 and 3 merely set up the endgame. For those of us who had the pleasure of watching the Vox Machina campaign unfold live on Critical Role’s Twitch channel, we can only sit and wait patiently to see how the show will adapt some of the most amazing moments in the campaign.
One thing’s for sure: In the world of The Legend of Vox Machina, the adventure is thankfully far from over.
