No comic book series is complete without time travel. Season 4, episode 7 of Harley Quinn checked that off. Harley and Poison Ivy traveled to the future and saw an apocalyptic future. Before they could be killed by drones, they were saved by their daughter’s team.

At first, it looked like Neytiri (their daughter who was named after Avatar) was trying to overthrow Robin (who was in charge). She was really there to add her parents to Robin’s collection.

Neytiri explains that Harley and Ivy never really parented her. Cheryl was more of a parent to her. Neytiri said Harley and Ivy never confronted their issues as a couple. This forced HarlIvy to have a breakthrough. Harley tells Ivy about her sleepwalking and hallucinations. Ivy then said she’d been distracted with the Legion of Doom so she could create a better life for them. After their revelation, they were saved by King Shark’s son. The three of them overcame Neytiri and got back to the past. Unfortunately, it was too late. Lex Luthor already ruined the past and started the dystopian future.

Shocking to no one, Luthor probably set a lot of season 4’s issues into motion. He killed Nightwing. That put a damper on the Bat Family. Now there was one less group to challenge him. Second, he definitely had a hand in Harley’s sleepwalking. This was meant to put a wedge between Ivy and Harley. It almost worked. The two of them going into the future was an added bonus. Luthor likely took advantage of the situation and started his plan. Don’t be shocked if this episode focuses on Lex Luthor more than Harley Quinn.
