As people around the country are wrapping up their workweeks ahead of the long holiday weekend, the news cycle chose chaos as it’s been reported that multiple Marvel shows have been delayed.

Buckle up, superhero fans. We have some disappointing news to share with our readers. Although we’re still looking at an exciting slate of TV shows to come, Marvel has rescheduled multiple series, leaving just Loki season 2 and What If…? season 2 on the schedule for 2023. We’ll only be watching new episodes of one live-action Marvel show for the remainder of the year.

The Hollywood Reporter shares this afternoon that Marvel is reshuffling release dates amid the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes. And while it makes sense, it doesn’t hurt any less. According to the report, Disney has decided to space out its upcoming titles so that they aren’t without any big shows or movies during this unexpected time for the entertainment industry. So even if they have something filmed and ready to go, they might be holding onto it just in case.

Along with this news, it’s also been reported that Disney has changed the name of the upcoming Agatha series, now called Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. It was previously titled Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Check out the new schedule for the upcoming Marvel shows below, in addition to Loki season 2 coming on Oct. 6, 2023, and What If…? season 2 releasing around Christmas of this year. The latter’s release window was also reported today.

New Marvel TV schedule

  • Echo – Pushed to January 2024
  • Agatha: Darkhold Diaries – Pushed to fall 2024
  • Ironheart – No date
  • X-Men 97 – Pushed to spring 2024
  • Daredevil: Born Again – No Date
  • Wonder Man – No Date

At this time, this information is coming from The Hollywood Reporter’s sources and has not been confirmed by Disney, but we’re trusting the publication as they are known to be very credible. It’s a weird time to be a TV and movie fan considering the strikes, but we support the writers and actors here at Bam Smack Pow. And of course, at least we still have one more Marvel movie to look forward to in the remainder of 2023. At the time of this writing, The Marvels is still scheduled for a Nov. 10 release date, and we’re really hoping it doesn’t get pushed back.
