13. Nora West-Allen

We went on quite the journey with Nora West-Allen on The Flash, and that’s mainly down to the fact that we met quite a few versions of the character over the years. Originally introduced as Barry and Iris’ daughter from a bleak future where the Scarlet Speedster vanished in the Crisis, she travels back in time to meet her parents. After that, we learn that she was working with the Reverse-Flash in a bid to avoid destroying the timeline too much.

That Nora’s timeline-traveling unfortunately results in her being erased existence, but we don’t lose Nora completely. The timeline changes, but Barry and Iris are still fated to have a daughter named Nora, and we eventually meet the new version of her when she too travels to the past (with her brother Bart) to meet her parents.

The original Nora, also known as XS, was a conflicting character as she often ignored her parents’ advice and repeated her mistakes on a cycle, but Jessica Parker Kennedy was delightful in the role, making it easy to love her – so much so that we bawled when she disappeared in season 5. And the new Nora is such a perfect and enjoyable character that we wish we got to spend more time with her in the back half of the show’s run.
