22. Allegra Garcia and Chester P. Runk

It’s hard to rank Chester and Allegra separately because The Flash really stopped caring about them as separate individuals the moment it tried to shoehorn them into a romance. And by shoehorn, we mean that it spent absolutely ages building towards a romance we all saw coming and yet couldn’t care less about.

Allegra was an exciting new addition to the show when she debuted in its sixth season and Kayla Compton certainly livened up the screen whenever she appeared. The character’s bond with Nash Wells was also incredibly endearing and it made us root for her, so when we heard she’d be joining the show full-time from season 7 onwards, we were ecstatic.

Similarly, Chester was an instantly lovable addition to Team Flash, with his “What’s Up Party People!” introduction making him a fan-favorite. And when the show explored his backstory, you couldn’t help but feel connected to him. Unfortunately, it did little of note with him after that, making him little more than a half-baked replacement for Cisco Ramon.

Separately, Chester and Allegra were enjoyable arrivals to The Flash. But together, their pointless-but-predictable romance just wasted far too much time in the final season. And given that it left us caring about them less than we did when they arrived, it’s hard to argue that the characters weren’t ultimately failed by the show.
