6. Magik and Wolfsbane in The New Mutants

The New Mutants was 20th Century Fox’s final Marvel Comics. Most of their movies have at least one shining star. This one had two. Shocking to no one, Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) stood out as Wolfsbane and Magik. The problem is they couldn’t be on the screen the entire movie. The rest of the cast wasn’t bad, but nothing could remove the stench of 20th Century Fox’s bad decisions.

It’s a shame The New Mutants didn’t do well. This was one of the first Marvel Comics horror/thriller movies. This could have been the beginning of something special. At the very least, Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy could have continued their roles.

5.  Batman and Robin

This writer believes that Batman and Robin wasn’t a bad movie, but it wasn’t good either. The problem is this movie was promoted wrong. This should have been marketed as a comedy. Nothing about this movie says it’s anything like Tim Burton’s Batman. It wasn’t even like Batman Forever.

Arnold Schwarzenegger played Mr. Freeze and made ice puns. Batman used a Bat credit card at auction. And Bane…whatever that was. Go back and watch Batman and Robin, just don’t take it seriously. You’ll enjoy it more than you think.
