20. Kid Flash

When Wally West first debuted on The Flash during Season 2, comic book fans rejoiced, knowing that heroic adventures awaited the long-lost member of the West family.

While Wally quickly became one of the show’s most beloved characters, things didn’t start out that way. He wasn’t happy to meet Joe and Iris and he wasn’t a major fan of Barry Allen either. Moreover, he had a strong need for speed and participated in a number of street races, which didn’t go down too well with his detective father. However, on the other side of things, he also had this strong desire to help people and even become a vigilante for a brief period. Naturally, the two things eventually aligned as Wally became a speedster, and Kid Flash was born.

It didn’t take long for Wally to adapt to the speedster lifestyle as he quickly became a pro at the superhero thing. He wasn’t just a member of the team, he was a brilliant hero in his own right. In being so, he bonded with his family to an even greater extent, in awe of the fact that Barry was actually The Flash.

Keiynan Lonsdale did a great job as the character, and it’s really unfortunate that the show couldn’t find material more worthy of him, as Wally was continually written out or sidelined. Thankfully, he did get a chance to shine when he was moved to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, before his full-time departure from the Arrowverse.
