26. Frost

There was once a time when the name “Killer Frost” would have never appeared on a list of the Arrowverse’s greatest superheroes. However, much like the character in question, times have changed.

Before we begin, it should be said that Caitlin Snow is more than deserving of a place on this list on good-heartedness alone and that, if it included the non-costumed team members, she would undoubtedly be in the Top 10. However, when she finally did put on a costume, it wasn’t to help Team Flash, as her villainous icy alter-ego had taken control of her body.

Though Caitlin had previously encountered the Earth-2 Killer Frost, she herself didn’t actually possess any super-powers – or at least she didn’t, until Flashpoint. When Barry reset the timeline, Caitlin was a lot more like her evil doppelgänger as she too suddenly possessed a cold side. Killer Frost was fully awoken by Savitar, and she proceeded to wreak havoc on his behalf, tormenting her former teammates. However, when Cisco’s life was at risk, she did the right thing and saved him from the self-proclaimed “God of Speed.” Since then, she has been an anti-hero, aiding Team Flash whenever called upon and allowing Caitlin to take control the rest of the time.

She is every bit as sassy, vengeful and cold-blooded as she was when she was evil, but now she fights for the heroes and has even struck up a quirky relationship with Caitlin herself as the two leave each other post-it notes. Guess you could say that Caitlin did manage to warm this ice queen’s heart after all. And this connection to her human side makes Frost a much more efficient hero.

Frost’s death in The Flash season 8 was uncalled for and unnecessary and just one of the many examples of how the show underutilised the character.
