10. John Constantine

There is no more comic-accurate portrayal in any movie, TV show, or video game, than that of Matt Ryan’s John Constantine. He’s perfect, so perfect in fact that he’s considered the definitive version of the character (even more so than the great Keanu Reeves), and whenever a Constantine property is discussed, his name comes up immediately. He’s that good, and that deserving of the acclaim he gets.

When fans heard that he would be joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for a guest stint (and later a regular role), they were thrilled. And rightly so since the decision to cancel his NBC series was widely regarded by the fans as a huge mistake.

Constantine was a welcome presence on Legends, with Ryan quickly reminding all of us why his performance as the character was so highly-regarded. The show didn’t make the most of him in the final few seasons, as his struggles with darkness and unexpected romance with Zari Tarazi felt like they going round in circles, but it was all worth it to see him back in the role. And the biggest tragedy of his involvement in Legends was how Warner Bros. senselessly had him written out so they could use him a DCEU project which ultimately never materialized.

Nevertheless, those four seasons he was part of were just more reminders of how darn brilliant Matt Ryan was as John Constantine.
