22. Mona Wu

Mona Wu was quite the divisive character. While she was a lovable, vibrant presence on the show in her early appearances, the show relied quite heavily on her in season 4. When you think about it, it isn’t hard to see why the fourth season wasn’t as well-received by fans as the previous two, because it did get a little too silly. And Mona was among the silliest parts of it.

There were definitely some nice aspects to the character. For starters, Ramona Young did a wonderful job as the character, portraying her as an endearing addition to the team. Furthermore, her friendships with Ava and Nora (as well as her unusual bond with Gary) were really nice elements that provided season 4 with some of its most heartfelt moments.

However, the character was quite goofy, particularly when she evolved into the Kaupe (which wasn’t the show’s most convincing use of CGI). Adding to that, her relationship with Konane wasn’t all that compelling or developed and she really did take Legends to some odder-than-usual places.

Make no mistake, Mona could be fun. But she was also a character that felt silly just for the sake of being silly, and Legends was usually smarter than that.
