Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning gets discouraging streaming release update
By Cody Schultz
If you’re looking forward to streaming Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning on Paramount+, we have some disappointing news for you.
It’s been nearly two months since Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was released in theaters on July 12, yet the movie surprisingly has yet to make its way to Paramount+ for fans to enjoy from the comfort of their homes.
The seventh film in the hit franchise saw Tom Cruise returning to the role of Ethan Hunt in an epic action adventure that saw Ethan teaming up with the IMF team to track down a dangerous weapon before it could fall into the hands of the wrong individuals.
While the movie was a success, it didn’t quite rake in as much as insiders had projected finishing its run with $550 million at the global box office which seems like a win but given the budget of the film the studio is actually primed to take a loss. In theory, this should increase the movie’s chances of arriving on Paramount+ sooner than anticipated but it seems fans will have a long wait ahead of them.
Is Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning streaming yet?
As of Sept. 9, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning is still not streaming on Paramount+ or any streaming platform. Paramount has not yet formally announced when the movie is going to be streaming, but it does appear fans are in for a longer wait as the movie’s Paramount+ release date might not arrive until the final quarter of the year.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning streaming release date predictions
First, let’s look at what we know: Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 is not coming to Paramount+ in September. The movie was not on the September release calendar and there has been no promotion teasing the movie’s release this month. What is looking more likely is that the seventh Mission Impossible movie will finally arrive on Paramount+ sometime in October or November 2023.
According to The Direct, it is speculated that Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 will arrive on Paramount+ 90-120 days after the movie’s theatrical release. This means the earliest the movie could arrive would be October 10 and the latest would be November 9.
Of course, there is a chance Paramount could look to opt for a longer wait period as Mission Impossible didn’t begin streaming until a whopping 200+ days after it opened in theaters. Should Paramount by chance wait until the 200-day mark to release Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, we’d be looking at early 2024.
Needless to say, no matter how things play out, we’ve got a long wait still ahead before we can stream the latest Mission Impossible movie.
