2. Nick Robinson
Few stars have ascended through the Hollywood ranks quite as quickly as Nick Robinson. A veteran of his craft at only 28 years old, he grew up on sitcom Melissa & Joey before making a home for himself on the big-screen in films like Jurassic World, Everything, Everything and Love, Simon.
After finishing up a stint on Broadway, he made a return to the small screen in FX’s A Teacher, he co-starred in Netflix’s critically-acclaimed The Maid, and he served as producer and narrator of Simon‘s TV spinoff Love, Victor (as well as making two cameo appearances). It’s safe to say he’s undoubtedly one of the most sought-after performers of his generation. And it might sound cliche to say, but it’s for good reason.
Robinson has a way of bringing troubled teenagers to life, having done exceptional jobs as closeted teenager Simon Spier in Love, Simon, the conflicted protagonist of The Kings of Summer and the titular addict in Being Charlie. There’s both a charm and charisma to his performances that makes him both incredibly watchable and endearing. It’s hard not to find yourself drawn to whichever character he’s playing (yes, even that moody older brother).
It goes without saying that he’d be a great choice to play Terry McGinnis in Batman Beyond. He’s proven himself in high-intensity roles (Jurassic World, The 5th Wave) and he’s a natural when it comes to giving layered performances. He’d be perfect for the part.
