10 actors who could play Batman Beyond in the DC Universe
10. Miles Heizer
One of the most underappreciated actors in Hollywood today, Miles Heizer has been turning in some of the best performances on television over the past 15 years. An incredibly talented young actor, he spent his childhood guest-starring on the likes of Ghost Whisperer, Private Practice, ER and Bones. He also played a major role in the Kevin Bacon-led drama Rails & Ties.
His big break into television, however, came when he played Drew Holt in NBC’s Parenthood for its full five-season run. And, following that, he achieved even greater heights as the troubled Alex Standall in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why.
One of TV’s heaviest-hitters, Heizer has been far too underrated by the film industry. Though he’s had supporting roles in Nerve and Love, Simon, it still feels like he’s been overlooked for far too long – especially when you take into account his performance on 13 Reasons Why.
Having wrapped up a four-year run on the Netflix series, the actor is next set to appear in another Netflix series The Corps. But we can’t help but think about how great he would be in a Batman Beyond project. He’s shown us that he’s capable of bringing complex high school students to life, and he’s certainly got both the warmth and grit necessary for bringing Terry McGinnis to the big screen.
If Warner Bros. and the DC Universe were looking to give an established star the huge break they deserve, then Heizer would be the perfect choice for the role.
