6 worst Arrowverse heroes, ranked
3 and 4. Hawkman and Hawkgirl
Hawkgirl is one of the most iconic DC Comics superheroes of all time. Unfortunately, her Arrowverse interpretation didn’t live up to that reputation.
Kendra Saunders was originally introduced to The Flash as a barista at Jitters that Cisco Ramon developed a crush on, but she soon discovered that she was actually a reincarnated Ancient Egyptian Priestess on the run from an immortal tyrant obsessed with killing her so that he could live forever. It’s a lot, and the Arrowverse struggled with that.
The story was ended rather well in the second annual crossover but it was randomly restarted for the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Thus Hawkgirl and Hawkman were brought back to be regular characters on the show, with much of their story going round in the same circles they had before. Adding to that, Kendra was caught in a love quadrangle, as Ray Palmer, Jefferson Jackson, and her destined love Hawkman all made their feelings for her clear.
Hawkman, on the other hand, was rather dull. He didn’t get the chance to do much outside of tell Kendra what her fate was destined to be, argue with some of the other Legends, and die (before his eventual reincarnation).
There was just too much happening and as a result, Hawkgirl never got to spread her wings in the way that her comic book counterpart did. She deserved better than that, and as the show wrote her out after the first season, it never really got to make it up to her. The same goes for Hawkman, too.
