6. Bane

Over the years, Bane has cemented himself as one of the coolest and most iconic big bads in DC comics. Bane’s origin story saw him rise as a newborn from the infamous prison of Peña Duro. He learned earlier than a Spartan at the agoge that survival depends on more than strength — intelligence is key.

His relentless drive for self-improvement led him to experiment with the highly addictive drug Venom. No, it’s not the symbiote from Marvel, but it may as well be based on how attached Bane became to its power. The dude was already powerful, Venom amplified hit superhuman levels.

If strength wasn’t enough, Bane’s brilliance, tactical prowess, and ability to adapt make him an insanely dangerous big bad. Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Bane in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” further solidified the character’s status. Hardy captured Bane’s complex personality, portraying him as more than just a muscle-bound villain. He showcased Bane’s intelligence, his commitment to his ideals, and his unwavering determination to break the Bat.

With the Gunn and Safran’s DCU gearing up, the time is now for Bane to make a return to the big screen. Someone like Dave Bautista is cool as a mint on the other side of the pillow — he should pay him.
