The season 4 finale of Harley Quinn will immediately address the end of the previous episode. In the episode, the former Clown Prince of Crime and current Mayor of Gotham City shot Barbara Gordon (Batgirl). DC Comics fans should have noticed she was shot in the same place as Batman: The Killing Joke. This means Barbara Gordon will likely be paralyzed.
Next, fans may think that Harley Quinn is going to kill the Joker. However, the episode title is “Killer’s Block.” This could hint at Harley having trouble murdering people. That includes the guy who paralyzed her best friend. This could be because Barbara Gordon asked her not to retaliate. Babs wouldn’t want someone killed because of her. Even if it’s the Joker. Harley respecting her wishes would make sense. Harley isn’t as murderous as she once was. Although, Harley could get one more kill in before she goes cold turkey on villainy.
The other thing Harley will have to do is admit the truth. She killed Nightwing. Harley told Barbara Gordon that her potato clone did it, but she won’t hold on to that lie. It’s possible that Barbara won’t forgive her. At least not immediately.
Without Nightwing, Batman, Batgirl, and possibly Robin, Gotham will need a new protector. Barbara could guilt Harley into doing it. This will lead to Babs becoming Oracle. Or maybe season 4 concludes with Jason Todd returning to take over as Batman. Wouldn’t that shock fans?
