4. Fast X

  • Release Year: 2023
  • Directed by: Louis Leterrier
  • Cast: Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, and Charlize Theron

Fast X premiered in theaters on May 18, 2023. It’s going to be one of the biggest releases of 2023 when the year’s over. The movie is also available to stream on Peacock, as of Sept. 15, 2023.

Fast X is all about revenge, and it loops in villains and stories from pretty much the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth movies. The main plot revolves around Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), the son of Hernan Reyes, whom Dom and the crew robbed in Fast Five, seeking his revenge on Dom and his crew for what happened in Fast Five. He’ll stop at nothing to bring them down.

Fast X is like if you took everything that worked in the previous movies hooked it up to nos and just kept pressing the button over and over again. Truly, it’s a thrill ride with epic performances, incredible action sequences, and unhinged villainy. The story is there, yet lacking, but it’s fine.

Look, Fast X is not going to be for everyone. It’s not as good as Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, or Furious 7, which is the best three-movie stretch of the franchise so far, but it’s so much fun! It’s easily the most fun Fast and Furious movie to date. The franchise has fully leaned into the ridiculous, and that’s honestly for the best!

Fast X Part Two is already in the works and will arrive in theaters in 2025. We can’t wait!
