3. Fast & Furious 6

  • Release Year: 2013
  • Director: Justin Lin
  • Cast: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Sung Kang, Luke Evans, and Gina Carano

Fast & Furious 6 is the sixth film of the franchise, and to me, it’s nearly perfect. Fast Five, which is one of the top movies from the franchise, takes this story in a new direction, and Fast & Furious 6 continues that progression. To me, this is the sweet spot of the franchise. Justin Lin was able to capture something special and incredible with the fifth and sixth movies of the franchise.

In Fast & Furious 6, which takes place after the heist in Fast Five, Dom and the crew get back together after agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) reveals that Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is still alive and working for Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). While the mission is to save Letty, who has amnesia and can’t remember life before the crash that was thought to have killed her, it also takes on a different purpose: stopping Owen Shaw.

Fast & Furious 6 is a great movie, clearly one of the franchise’s best so far. It will be really interesting if the series can capture the magic of this movie down the line. There’s a lot more Fast & Furious on the way.

Up next is the saddest movie of the franchise, Furious 7.
