Batman needs to try something new

Albert Einstein is credited with saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” This could be said about Batman. He’s tried keeping Gotham safe through fear and aggression, and Gotham’s criminals have adjusted to the Dark Knight’s tactics. Has Gotham fallen? Not yet, but it’s getting more dangerous.

Catwoman is making a point to try something new (read DC Comics Gotham War for more on that). Selina Kyle’s plan is getting results. There are still concerns with what she’s doing, but, so far, it’s working. This shows that Bruce’s way of doing things needs to be updated. If Alfred was alive, he’d agree.

The Joker isn’t Batman’s deadliest enemy

Everyone looks at Joker as Batman’s deadliest enemy. Of course, the Clown Prince of Crime has killed thousands of people and has terrorized everyone in the Bat Family and Gotham. He’s even killed Robin (Jason Todd). Those points don’t make him the deadliest. That honor goes to Bane.

Joker has bruised, beaten, and tortured Bruce Wayne. Bane has done that and he’s broken him mentally and physically. Joker has put fear in Gotham City. Bane did that and put Gotham City on lockdown. Not even the U.S. Government could get in. Lastly, Joker doesn’t want to kill Bruce Wayne. Meanwhile, Bane would be more than happy to do it if he could.
