No matter where you go, no matter who you ask, Attack on Titan will always be one of the most incredible anime titles that we have ever watched in our lifetimes.

Between the riveting themes of humanity’s determination to survive and the juxtaposition between humanity’s last hope being its greatest calamity, there isn’t a single aspect of this masterpiece that we aren’t left thinking about, no matter how many years come and go. All the more reason why ranking every season thus far is pretty difficult considering the fact that each season truly is amazing.

Nevertheless, there are some seasons that you must revisit sooner than the others. And because of that, we want to rank each season from worst to the very best.

All seasons of Attack on Titan ranked

As you know, some seasons of Attack on Titan are more heavy in lore while others are simply showcasing battles between those with immense power. What’s more, the most recent season, season 4, isn’t quite done yet. For this sake, we are taking into consideration which installment was most entertaining and moved the story along.

Without further ado, here is every season of Attack on Titan ranked from worst to best!

4. Attack on Titan season 3

What we love most about season 3 is the fact that it lets us know a little more about our enigmatic hero, Levi Ackerman. We learned all about his upbringing, as well as why he had no choice but to become one of humanity’s strongest soldiers alive.

We also got to see a very juicy showdown between Levi and his uncle, Kenny Ackerman. And while it seemed easy to hate on Kenny at first, we soon realized that things weren’t as black and white. This character is just like everyone else in that he would do whatever it takes to survive.

Another thing we loved about this season was how much deeper in the lore we went into exactly how Eren Yeager received his powers—through his father’s grievous sins. There, we took a step into history, observing the Reiss Family that was sacrificed for Eren to become who he is; a blessing and a curse Eren and the rest of humanity are still paying for to this day.

And who can forget about Commander Erwin Smith’s courageous speech that motivates us to this very day to lay down our lives for what we believe?! (Rest in peace to a real one!)

When it’s all said and done, season three had all the information we all needed ahead of entering into season 4. However, it just falls in comparison to the other seasons. (Believe us when we say that’s not a bad thing!)

Rating: 8.5 out of 10

What Could’ve Made Season 3 Better: When observed in the grand scheme of things, season 3 is definitely the season that helped us understand Eren’s descent into madness. But by itself, it’s not as strong as we would like it to be and is often forgettable if it weren’t for the introduction of Kenny, The Reiss Family, and the massive, deformed titan that still gives us nightmares.
