3. Attack on Titan Season 4
Between the moment of silence that fell upon us when Eren’s head was severed to the heartbreak, we felt when Sasha Braus was sadly slain, there are so many aspects of season four that just put us in shock. But not the good kind of shock. Rather, the kind of shock that leaves us saddened by the fact that there are really only two ways this is all going to end.
One on hand, it’s possible that Eren is going to finally come to his senses and stop The Rumbling before it’s too late. He’ll have to pay for his sins, but at least, no more blood will be shed. On the other hand, it’s just as possible that Eren will succeed in his plan to kill everyone outside of the wall. Unfortunately, the latter is the most likely.
The charm of season 4 is that it’s so well written that even in the midst of hopelessness, we are still so attached to that small string of hope that this season instilled in us when it gave us flashbacks of the good times when things weren’t so grim. (For example, Eren and his friends getting drunk or Levi being confused for a child by that creepy clown.)
There’s just a great contrast between light and dark in this season. Couple that with the fact that we have a good amount of lore and action, this final season is truly one for the books.
Rating: 8.9 out of 10
What Could’ve Made Season 4 Better: Season four doesn’t have to conclude for everyone to know that it was just far too many installments. Granted, with how much happens in the final stretch of the manga, we aren’t surprised that we need more installments than we envisioned. But there comes a point where you can’t help but wonder if it would’ve benefited everyone to just add another season rather than have a whopping four parts in one season alone.
