If you’re hoping to stream Blue Beetle on Max in the coming weeks, we have some disappointing news for you as it seems the wait could be a long one.
We’ll admit, we weren’t expecting Blue Beetle to begin streaming on Max this September. The movie wasn’t on the September streaming release schedule and then there’s the fact that the movie is still under the 60-day theatrical window having only just been released in theaters on August 18. We did, however, think there could be a chance the movie could arrive in early or mid-October but that no longer seems to be the case.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Max will look to amplify voices that uplift and inspire & spotlight Latino talent and programming. The celebration will unfold across the month-long celebration which runs from September 15 to October 15, and will highlight Latino content including seven films from their Latino Short Film Competition winners.
There are some amazing titles Max spotlighted in the promotional materials announcing its Hispanic Heritage Month including its new video spot which you can watch below. One title that is notably missing from the highlights is Blue Beetle which broke barriers this summer becoming the first superhero film featuring a Latino-led hero and cast.
Blue Beetle streaming release date predictions
The exclusion of Blue Beetle in the promotional materials for its Hispanic Heritage Month content line-up seems to have confirmed that only will the movie not begin streaming in September, but it likely isn’t coming in October either. Or at least, it won’t be coming in the first half of October.
Recently, Max has been releasing new DC Comics movies in roughly 70 days or less which suggests there is a chance the movie could arrive in late October. This hinted that we could see Blue Beetle stream on Max as early as October 13, but that date no longer seems likely.
If the movie was coming on October 13, there’s no way Max wouldn’t have promoted the movie’s streaming release date as part of its Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. After all, the movie has been celebrated for its Latino representation and would have been the perfect feature title to drop in celebration of Latino creators and talent.
With an early October window seemingly ruled out, it seems like the earliest the movie could arrive on Max would be Oct. 25 as that would put it close to the 70-day mark. However, there is a strong chance Max might look to release the movie sometime in November instead, as a way to give it a major streaming release closer to the Thanksgiving holiday.
September is coming to an end which means we should receive Max’s October release highlights soon. At that time, we’ll have a better idea of whether DC’s latest movie will or will not be coming during the month of October.
