Doom Patrol’s final season is finally coming to Max in October

Doom Patrol has been a staple for DC fans, but all good things must come to an end. After months of waiting, the final season is coming soon!

Doom Patrol, one of DC’s superhero series, will be making its grand comeback for one last season (season 4B) after all. That’s right, it’s actually official: the final episodes of Doom Patrol are dropping in October.

While that is exciting news, considering we all thought Doom Patrol was being shelved, but there is one teeny-tiny problem: the exact date is still unknown. But hey, we have the month nailed down at least, and that is so much better than not knowing anything.

Doom Patrol is a superhero TV series that flips the genre on its head by focusing on a team of misfit, super-powered individuals. Based on the DC Comics team of the same name, the show debuted in 2019 and is adored for its quirky and off-beat approach. The team is made up of Robotman, a former race car driver now in a robotic body (Riley Shanahan and our beloved Brendan Fraser); Negative Man, a pilot wrapped in bandages and possessed by an energy being (Matt Bomer and David K. Hill); Elasti-Woman, a one-time Hollywood star who can stretch her body (April Bowlby); Crazy Jane, who has multiple personalities each with a unique power (Diane Guerrero); and their enigmatic leader, Dr. Niles Caulder (Timothy Dalton), also known as The Chief.

The series also goes deep into each character’s personal struggles and backstories. While they may not be your standard, cape-wearing heroes, the Doom Patrol takes on weird threats that are too “peculiar” for the mainstream superheroes to handle.

Doom Patrol is not being shelved

Back in January, we were told Doom Patrol and Titans would both come to a close after four seasons. Titans did come back in May and closed up their story, now it’s our turn to wait for Doom Patrol‘s final string of episodes to be released sometime in the fall. It’s been a long wait and some fans were even messaging James Gunn on Threads asking him about the show, but rest assured –  in Gunn we trust, and if he says the series will wrap up this fall, it will wrap up this fall.

Doom Patrol, along with Titans, has been a staple for DC fans, but alas, all good things must come to an end. Doom Patrol will be ending its run with season 4B, and while it’s sad to say goodbye, we’re excited to see its grand finale.

October will be your month to make some popcorn, gather your friends, and say farewell to Doom Patrol. Who’s ready for one last ride with these quirky heroes?
