All 7 Riverdale seasons ranked from worst to best

5. Riverdale season 4
Riverdale season 4 had so much potential. Coming off the success of Riverdale season 4 and that epic season finale that had fans asking questions all summer long, Riverdale season 4 begins with the Luke Perry tribute episode. In the show, they chose to kill off Fred Andrews after Perry tragically passed away.
After that, the show jumps into the mysterious disappearance of Jughead who leaves Riverdale High for senior year at Stonewall Prep. We get little flashforwards all season, but we don’t get the big reveal until the end. He was about to be murdered so his fellow classmates at Stonewall could take over the Baxter Brothers novels after Jughead won the writing contest.
There’s a lot going on this season, though, especially with the voyeuristic video tapes that were being left at the homes of Archie and the gang.
Unfortunately, Riverdale season 4 was still ongoing when the COVID-19 pandemic. This was senior year and there was so much left to happen. We still hadn’t seen the big graduation scene when Riverdale season 4 ended after 19 episodes. We also didn’t get much resolution about the tapes until the first episodes of Riverdale season 5.
Overall, I think Riverdale season 4 would have worked a lot better with all 22 episodes released in sequence. That would have been the best-case situation, but I’m not factoring that into my reasoning. I liked Jughead’s storyline with the Dead Poets Society vibe, but the rest of the season was pretty messy with Charles’s involvement, Archie’s boxing storyline, and more.
