1. Riverdale season 1

Riverdale season 1 is obviously the best season of the series, and there are a few major reasons why that’s the case.

First of all, I think it was super exciting to introduce fans of Archie Comics into this world. It was dark and grim at times, but the cast chemistry was so good. It was so much fun solving the murder of Jason Blossom (yes, I know that sounds morbid, but it was a good whodunnit).

The mystery in the first season is the best mystery to date. It’s the tightest story. There was not a lot of room for extra storylines to derail it. That happened in virtually every other season of the show, though, and I think that’s because the seasons were just too long. The first season was 13 episodes, and that’s the perfect length for these stories. With the longer seasons we did get some great one-off episodes, like the musicals, and some backstories for supporting characters, but overall, it made the whole seasons feel a bit stale. That just wasn’t the case for season 1.

It would have been great if they stuck with the shorter seasons with Riverdale. Although it was fun while they lasted, I think fans got burnt out around season 4 and season 5 when the show started to feel repetitive. Season 1, though, was as good as this show ever was.
