Resolution of storylines: Season 8’s finale ensured that all essential plot threads were neatly tied up, preventing any loose ends or unresolved questions. The final battle against Godspeed was intense and action-packed and truly showed off the Flash’s superhero abilities and the long journey he and the Flash family have been on. It also seemingly sealed the fate of Eobard Thawne, with the Reverse-Flash finally being vanquished! This moment was an extremely satisfying conclusion to the long-standing rivalry between Barry and Thawne, which overall gave us a fulfilling closure for that storyline.
Cliffhanger ending: The episode’s final moments left us hungry for more! The episode expertly teased what lay ahead, setting the stage for the final season with a sense of thrilling excitement. What’s more, the post-credits scene heightened our excitement by offering a glimpse of the arrival of Cobalt Blue, a notable DC Comics villain, into the series. This unexpected twist added an extra layer of intrigue to our anticipation for what’s to come.
Exciting twists: The return of Reverse-Flash took us by complete surprise and added a further sense of danger and excitement to the episode. Also, the reveal of Iris’s time sickness which was a result of harboring the Negative Forces inside her, and the uncertainty of her fate, was something we were greatly looking forward to exploring in the next season.
