Marvel’s upcoming Echo series will now be arriving on Disney+ in 2024, but you will be able to watch it all in one sitting.

Remember when we were promised that one of the many new Marvel series, Echo, would be coming out in November 2023? Well, in an unsurprising move, Marvel has reportedly decided to put that treat in the oven for a tad bit longer.

Instead of November, we will now be able to watch Echo in January 2024. Though we’re only looking at a two-month delay, this is kind of a double-edged sword — there’s more time to polish off the final cut of the series, but the rumors about its actual importance to the MCU make us slightly more annoyed about it.

Sources like The Hollywood Reporter have reported that Marvel wanted each of its upcoming shows, including Agatha: Darkhold Diaries and X-Men ’97, to have their own moment of glory while blessing our screens with their episodes, which is actually pretty fair. Though we all love a good superhero movie, having too many shows overlapping or having to compete against each other would do more harm than good for the overall franchise. Also, we’re all very well aware at this point that the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes also make producing and scheduling a challenge at the moment.

What’s Echo about?

So while we wait for the series to premiere, let’s get into what viewers can expect. Echo is about the deep, dark origin tales of Maya Lopez, a.k.a. Echo, as she deals with and learns from her tough New York City past and reconnects with her Native American heritage. Heartwarming, thrilling, and oh-so-Marvel. She is deaf and has superhuman acrobatic skills and photographic reflexes.

Who’s in the cast for Echo?

Echo has a stellar cast, with Alaqua Cox leading the charge as Maya Lopez. You might remember her from her appearances in the Hawkeye series. The show also has a fantastic ensemble with stars like Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, and Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zach McClarnon.

Now, for the exciting news: Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox will be reprising their iconic roles as The Kingpin and Daredevil, respectively, from Netflix’s Daredevil series. Rumor has it that Cox’s appearance could have ties with a very familiar face — possibly Jessica Jones? But hey, remember, it’s a rumor, so let’s not get too excited about that just yet. What we do know for sure is Echo will pave the way for the much-awaited Daredevil: Born Again series, whenever that comes out.

Is there a trailer for Echo?

Nope. But, with the original plan for a November release and the new promise of delivering the series in January, we should be getting one soon.

Even though we are looking at a two-month delay, it seems Marvel is planning on dropping all episodes at once in January 2024. A welcome break from tradition — who doesn’t love a good binge-watching marathon? It kind of makes up for the delay, in my opinion.

With Echo on so close and yet so far, and Loki‘s season 2 set to drop on October 5, Disney+ and Marvel are all set to keep our superhero cravings satisfied. Let’s just hope this rollercoaster doesn’t stop in its tracks once more.
