Breaking down all 13 legacy Star Wars characters in Ahsoka so far

Sabine

This mandalorian rebel of house Wren was an important member of the Star Wars Rebels team. A ruler of Mandalore, Sabine handed the darksaber over to Bo-Katan to rejoin her rebel family. During her Rebels run, Sabine grew close to Kanan’s padawan Ezra Bridger and joined Ahsoka in her mission to locate him in the series finale.

In between Rebels and Ahsoka, Sabine became Ahsoka’s padawan. Now in Ahsoka, Sabine makes her live-action debut, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Sometimes she butts heads with Ahsoka, but they remain committed to saving their friend and preventing Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return.

Hera (along with Jacen and Chopper)

Hera Syndulla pilots the Ghost in Star Wars Rebels and falls in love with the Jedi Kanan Jarrus. Her father was a Clone Wars general and Hera even makes an appearance alongside her parents as a young Twi’lek in a few episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Co-pilot droid Chopper comes along with her for her live-action adventures, where the New Republic general is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Hera and Kanan’s son, Jacen, was born in the Rebels finale and is now over 10 years old, illustrating early signs of possessing special abilities.

Ezra

Ezra Bridger was the focal hero in Star Wars Rebels; a young force sensitive subversive kid from Lothal who joined the Ghost crew and trained with Kanan to become a Jedi. As his powers grew, so did his sense of responsibility as well as his bravery. He ultimately calls on the purrgil to send Thrawn lightyears away, possibly sacrificing himself in the process. In Ahsoka, Ezra is played by Eman Esfandi and found by Sabine on a distant planet where he has been stranded for years.

Ryder

Ryder Azadi was the Governor of Lothal in Star Wars Rebels, voiced by Clancy Brown. Ryder operated under the radar to support the rebels, while trying not to attract too much attention from the Empire. He decides to fully join the rebellion and is still the Governor on Lothal now that the New Republic is in control. Clancy Brown reprises the role for live-action in Ahsoka.

Thrawn

Grand Admiral Thrawn was the main antagonist in Star Wars Rebels. Without force abilities, Thrawn used his cunning military tactics and superior intelligence to keep an upper hand against the Empire’s enemies. Lars Mikkelsen is also translating his voice work as Thrawn to live-action in the Ahsoka series. He is a prominent figure who has now had multiple gradual reveals between animation and live-action Star Wars. His return to power was also hinted at in The Mandalorian and Mikkelsen will likely continue to portray Thrawn in future Star Wars projects.
