Dante is leaping back into action! A new Devil May Cry anime by Castlevania’s showrunner, Adi Shankar, is coming to Netflix soon.
An exciting announcement just burst onto the scene, just in time for Netflix’s Castlevania: Nocturne streaming release onto the platform. The creative genius behind Netflix’s acclaimed series Castlevania, Adi Shankar, is at it again – and this time, he’s gearing up to unleash a Devil May Cry anime As both a Devil May Cry player and a Castlevania player and show-lover, I could hardly contain my squealing when I read the words myself.
This lovechild of Netflix, Capcom, and Studio MIR, paired with the masterful guidance of Shankar, promises a rich, carefully crafted anime experience if Castlevania is anything to go by. The powerhouse of talent doesn’t end there either – Hideaki Itsuno, a legendary figure in the Devil May Cry gaming saga, and Seung Wook Lee from the acclaimed Studio MIR join forces as executive producers.
The seamless blend of gaming and animation expertise does set the stage for an anime adaptation that would do the original anime and the source material honor, and give it the authentic Devil May Cry flair matched with the mesmerizing animation we loved in Castlevania.

Though we don’t have an actual release date to relay, we will soon be going on a breathtaking ride with Dante as our guide, navigating the treacherous realms’ men and demons – and I’m all in.
