6. Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler is one of those mutants we just love. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t adore Nightcrawler. He’s a charming, kind-hearted mutant that’s easy to root for. Unlike most of the other members of the X-Men, he doesn’t look human.

Like Beast, he’s always in his human form and takes pride in being different. Though, that wasn’t always the case. Much of his origin story is his struggle with acceptance, but ultimately finds peace. His religious beliefs are a major factor in the essence of his character and truly make him a relatable character.

Having Nightcrawler in the MCU is a must, but not in the first film. Nightcrawler is a mutant who deserves his history to be properly told as a subplot in a film. Born in a quaint German village, he grew up in a circus thanks to his striking blue skin, tail, and teleportation abilities. His life wasn’t all joy. The well-mannered mutant faced prejudice and exploitation early on in his life.

We all know the twists to his story. His parents are Mystique, the shape-shifter, and Azazel, the demon-like mutant. We didn’t get anything from his character in Fox’s movies, and we don’t need to see him in X-Men’s first film either.
