8. J.K. Simmons

J.K. Simmons’ portrayal of Jim Gordon in the Snyderverse movies was highly anticipated by fans, given his previous Oscar-winning performance in Whiplash and his strong acting abilities. However, his turn as Gordon was unfortunately undeveloped and underutilized.

Simmons’ screen time as Gordon was limited, and he was not given enough material to fully explore the character’s complexity. Gordon is a crucial figure in the Batman mythos, known for his strong sense of justice and unwavering dedication to his job, but in the Snyderverse movies, he was reduced to a minor character with little impact on the overall story.

Simmons’ performance as Gordon was solid, but he was not given the opportunity to fully showcase his range as an actor. The few scenes he was in were mostly exposition or brief interactions with other characters, leaving little room for character development or emotional depth.

Despite this, Simmons’ appearance as Gordon did bring a sense of familiarity and comfort to the fans of the Batman universe, and his strong acting abilities added some gravitas to the character. It’s a shame that the Snyderverse movies did not fully capitalize on his potential as an actor and the potential of the character, but hopefully, there will be future opportunities for Simmons to delve deeper into the role of Jim Gordon.
