Loki season 2 cast and character guide: Everyone you need to know in the MCU show
Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer
Even with the character’s apparent departure in the Loki season 1 finale, Gugu Mbatha-Raw is back as Judge Ravonna Renslayer. A figurehead of the TVA, fans were pretty suspicious of her early on because of her refusal to ask questions about the organization (and how she overlooked all of Mobius’ concerns too). Those suspicions turned out to be correct when Ravonna proved herself to be a villainous character, pruning Loki and attempting to do the same to Sylvie.
It’s unclear how she’ll factor into season 2 at this point. Even though the timeline has been reset, it would be a little odd for the show to ignore her departure in the finale, so we’re getting the sense that she won’t be the TVA’s judge this time around. This could also point to her involvement in the larger overall mystery surrounding the timeline and who – if anyone – is truly pulling the stings here.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw is a star of both the stage and screen, with theater roles in plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Anthony and Cleopatra to her name, as well as the West End and Broadway productions of Hamlet as Ophelia. Prior to Loki, she broke onto the US TV scene with an acclaimed performance in Black Mirror‘s Emmy-winning episode “San Junipero”, before going on to appear in movies such as A Wrinkle In Time and Beauty and the Beast. You can currently see her in Apple TV+’s series Surface, in which she plays the main role.
