Loki spoilers: Does Loki season 2 episode 1 have a post-credits scene?
By Cody Schultz
Marvel has been growing more stingy with its post-credits scenes in MCU Disney Plus shows leaving many to question whether there will be one to enjoy in Loki season 2 episode 1.
A new season of Loki has premiered and the first episode of the season does an amazing job of paving the way for what promises to be yet another can’t-miss season. With a new season of Loki arriving on Disney Plus, there are a lot of burning questions fans have about the season ahead. There are also a lot of questions about the season premiere including a question Marvel fans such as myself have come to instinctively ask about every new Marvel project: is there a post-credits scene to enjoy?
It’s not our fault that our minds always ask this very question. In fact, we only have Marvel to blame as the studio revolutionized the use of post-credits scenes within its movies as a way to bring fans teases of what was to come next… and at other times just to give us a final laugh with a bonus scene.
When the Marvel Cinematic Universe branched out into television, the question remained at the forefront of our minds. With the release of each new episode of Marvel’s Disney Plus shows, there is a natural curiosity to know whether we can bounce once the credits begin rolling or whether we should stay seated.
If you’re asking yourself this very question about Loki season 2 episode 1, allow us to help you out fan to fan. Yes, there is a post-credits scene to enjoy in the Loki season 2 premiere and it’s one that you won’t want to miss.
Are there multiple post-credits scenes in the Loki premiere?
If you’ve just watched the Loki season premiere, you’ll want to stick around for the post-credits scene that the episode includes but once that scene finishes, you’re safe to go ahead and end your viewing. That’s right, there is only one bonus scene to enjoy in the season 2 premiere of Loki with that post-credits scene coming at the mid-credits mark.
After the bonus scene, the full credits roll before the episode fades to black.
While some might be disappointed to know there is only one post-credits scene in the premiere, we’re honestly thrilled that Marvel decided to give us a bonus scene in the premiere! Marvel has been known not to include post-credits scenes in most episodes with the final episodes of the seasons typically being when they’ll sneak in a tease of two.
Loki season 2 episode 1 post-credits scene explained
The first official post-credit scene of Loki‘s second season features a beloved character with Sylvie taking to the spotlight for the season 2 episode 1 post-credits scene!
In the scene, Sylvie shows up in Broxton, Oklahoma circa 1982 in what is apparently a branched timeline. It’s here that she sees the iconic Golden Arches having landed at the McDonald’s restaurant where she asks for one of everything as the scene fades to black.
Fans will recall the trailer for season 2 teased Sylvie working at a McDonald’s so her arriving at McDonald’s in the post-credits scene helps to explain how she finds her way there. It also seems to suggest we might see the Loki and Sylvie reunion teased in the season 2 trailer in the second episode as well.
Loki is streaming now on Disney Plus with new episodes releasing every Thursday night at 9/8c!
