4. Ava DuVernay

Ava DuVernay is familiar with superhero properties. Not only was she set to direct a New Gods movie for the DC Extended Universe (which ultimately didn’t happen), but she was the creator, producer, and writer of The CW’s Naomi series. So to say she’d be an ideal choice for the X-Men movie in the MCU would be understating it.

Imagine blending the genius of Ava DuVernay, famed for her magic touch in movies like Selma and When They See Us, with the action-packed world of X-Men. Sounds epic, right? With her talent for diving deep into real, human stories (something we saw plenty of in DC’s Naomi), DuVernay would bring all those mutant woes right to our hearts, making us feel every punch, leap, and laser-beam glance.

The X-Men, with all their supercharged drama, would be told through the lens of someone who knows how to touch the soul. Ava DuVernay, with her gift for storytelling, could bring out the raw emotions and real-world struggles of our favorite mutants. It’s not just about cool powers; it’s about fitting in, facing fears, and finding acceptance. And who better to bring that story to life than the director who’s already shown us the heart behind the headlines?

Her talent for storytelling and experience with superhero projects makes her a strong contender for the role. Hopefully, Marvel consider her when choosing a director for the project and allow her to take on the big-budget superhero movie she never got to do for DC.
