Superman and Lois is easily one of TV’s best shows, but which of its many characters are its greatest strengths and which ones leave us frustrated?

Superman and Lois is possibly the best show on television today. Not only does it feature production values far beyond that of what you would normally see on broadcast TV, it contains some of the best writing and storytelling that you will see in any comic book TV show or movie. Some have even called it the best live-action Superman story ever told, and it isn’t hard to see why.

The CW series centers on Clark Kent and Lois Lane at a very different time in their lives than all previous adaptations of the characters. Veteran reporters, superheroes, and parents, the pair move to Smallville to raise their teenage twin sons away from the fast-paced city life of Metropolis. It’s very much a family drama, and a sensational one at that.

The heart of Superman and Lois is its characters and the relationships they develop over time. The community of Smallville is very close-knit and the show does a wonderful job of balancing that with the super-powered pressures of Clark being the Man of Steel.

Not every character on Superman and Lois lives up to their potential, however. With that in mind, as we eagerly await the fourth season, let’s take a look at them all in depth, and rank them.
