The season 2 premiere of Loki picked up with the God of Mischief talking to Mobius, but his colleague didn’t recognize him. Come to find out, Loki didn’t reappear in the present when Sylvie sent him through the time door; he was talking to Mobius in the past. As Loki was running away from the TVA who sought to capture him, he was violently ripped from the past and brought back into the present. This happens consistently, but it’s an anomaly that shouldn’t happen while in the TVA.

Eventually, everything returns to normal for the two Time Variance Authority employees, but things are not well in general. Thanks to Sylvie’s actions in the season 1 premiere, the timeline continues to branch out – which is counter to what they’re supposed to be doing. With the Asgardian God no longer glitching, it’s time for him and Mobius to find Sylvie before the TVA does.

The mid-credit scene shows Sylvie appearing in a branched timeline. She shows up in Broxton Oklahoma in 1982 and heads into a McDonald’s. She wants something that’s not squirrel, opossum, or rat. After the cashier offers her nuggets, Sylvie says she can stay here.

Sylvie may think she’s found a home, but that won’t last long. The TVA is gathering a plethora of troops to go after her. We know that Loki will cross paths with Sylvie while she’s wearing a McDonald’s uniform. Whether he’s there to recruit her for his mission or warn her that the TVA coming after her remains to be seen. Either way, fans should expect to see her in the upcoming episode of the Disney Plus series.

As Loki season 2 is a Disney Plus-exclusive series, episode 2 – along with the previous episodes from season 1 and 2, as well as the upcoming episodes – can only be viewed on the paid subscription service itself (Disney Plus).
