Titans somehow managed to tell the story of three Robins throughout its four season run, and perhaps the best handled arc of the three of them was Tim Drake’s, simply because it was incredibly enjoyable to watch. Tim became a recurring part of the show in its third season before he joined the Titans and was promoted to a regular character for its fourth.

Portrayed by Jay Lycurgo, he was an instantly enjoyable addition to the show, who added some much-needed levity and heart to an otherwise incredibly dark season of Titans. He was a huge fan of Batman and Robin (much like he was in the comics) but he was also an inherently good person, who wanted to protect his family and his city.

There was a joy that Lycurgo brought to the show that made it incredibly easy to get attached to Tim. His performance was enthusiastic and endearing, ensuring that Tim quickly became one of the show’s enjoyable characters. And to watch him grow into the superhero we all knew he already was the most fulfilling aspect of Titans‘ fourth and final season.

One of the biggest shames of the show’s premature end is that we won’t get to see more of Tim actually in the Robin suit. Lycurgo looks amazing as the character, sporting the best Robin suit of the three that Titans has given us, and it would have been awesome to see him get to wear it more regularly in a fifth season.

Nevertheless, his performance was awesome and he was a joy to watch as the character, ensuring that Tim’s live-action debut exceeded expectations.
