The age of Krakoa is coming to an end, but Marvel says that the X-Men will survive this.

Powers/House of X brought in one of the best eras of X-Men and Marvel Comics history. The mutants created their island nation (Krakoa), medicine that extended humans’ quality of life, and they were living a healthy and judgment-free life. Of course, Krakoa had moments of terror and danger along the way, but that’s par for the course. It looked like this was the new norm for the X-Men. Then Orchis crashed the Hellfire Gala and changed all of that. Their destruction of Krakoa, mutants, and the slaying of diplomats tarnished the mutant name. Well, more so than normal.

Little by little, the X-Men were fighting back. Kate Pryde found a way to infiltrate where Cyclops is being held. Tony Stark and Emma Frost fought back against Feilong and his Iron Man Sentinels. And Jean Grey’s plan to have Firestar infiltrate Orchis was genius. Eventually, the X-Men will overcome Orchis and return to their normal lives. Unfortunately, it may not involve the nation of Krakoa remaining part of Marvel Comics.

Marvel’s Twitter debuted a trailer for the Rise of the Powers of X. In that trailer, X-Men from the future will come to the past to help stop the extinction of mutants. There was also a couple of X-Men who didn’t look like themselves helping as well. Among them were Kate Pryde (Shadowkat) who has pale, grey skin, Captain Krakoa who looks like Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), and Iron Man with Krakoan tech. Since Tony Stark has been helping Emma Frost, he may be on a short list of non-mutants who’ve been an X-Men. However, they could be the mutants from the future. This would explain their unfamiliar appearances.

As important as this is, the biggest news came at the end of the trailer. The survival of mutants depends on the return of Magneto. If it all comes down to Max Eisenhardt saving the day, the X-Men are in good hands. However, what happens when everything is over? Will things go back to the way they were before House/Powers of X? Does Magneto return to his old ways of being a villain? Are things about to get worse for mutants in general? Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out.
