10 fun horror-comedy movies perfect for Halloween
By Mark Lynch
Totally Killer
"“God, the ’80s are wild.” -Jamie Hughes"
In order to prevent her mother’s death, Jamie (Kiernan Shipka) time-travels to the 1980s to stop the murder of her mother and her mother’s friends. Throughout the movie, Jamie discovers the ’80s are nothing like the time she lives in. Among the things she learns is that dodgeball is one of the most aggressive sports ever, everyone smokes cigarettes, and teenagers are the worst.
This project is entertaining and violent. Totally Killer may be predictable at times, but most horror movies are. While it may not have the amount of kills that most movies like this do, it’s still bloody. It’s a great project to watch with friends. You’ll laugh at the ridiculousness, especially if you grew up in the 1980s.

The Blackening
"“But why the hell didn’t you say something? Damn, you almost made me spill my wine.” -Morgan"
The trailer for this movie doesn’t do this project justice. The preview for The Blackening makes the project seem like *just* a stereotypical movie. That’s not the case. Of course, there are some scenes where the story hits on commentary regarding Black Culture. Some of them are serious, others are meant to add levity to the movie. But, like all murder mysteries, the movie hits on all of the normal expectations. Chief among them is that anybody could be the killer. Even the ones that died. Hopefully, more people will check this out around Halloween. It deserves to be seen.
