As Loki season 2 hurdles into its final episodes, Disney Plus has confirmed when the beloved series will be signing off the air with its final episode.

If there was any doubt in fans’ minds regarding when the second season of Loki would be coming to an end, Disney Plus has cleared that up! While we still have a few new episodes coming this season, Disney Plus has announced that season 2 will come to an end on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023.

In typical Marvel fashion, they’re playing their cards close to their hand and have yet to offer up any teases of what to expect during the season finale. Instead, we simply know that the finale will be coming on Nov. 9.

The Nov. 9 release date for the finale is an interesting one as it puts the finale in direct competition with the release of Marvel’s newest theatrical release, The Marvels, which opens in theaters on Nov. 9 with previews before going wide in theaters across the nation on Nov. 10.

Loki season 2 will consist of six episodes

As we saw with season 1, the second season of Loki is set to consist of six episodes total which has become standard for most Marvel Disney Plus originals. The only live-action Marvel shows that have had more than six episodes thus far have been WandaVision and She-Hulk, which both were given nine-episode seasons.

The six-episode format worked pretty well for the first season of Loki, but we have to admit we’re wondering whether six episodes is going to be enough for season 2. This season seems to be doing some major work in building to the next Avengers movie and it feels like this is one show where Marvel could have eyed a longer episode count to help with pacing.

Loki season 2 release schedule

  • Season 2 Episode 1 Release Date: Oct. 5
  • Season 2 Episode 2 Release Date: Oct. 12
  • Season 2 Episode 3 Release Date: Oct. 19
  • Season 2 Episode 4 Release Date: Oct. 26
  • Season 2 Episode 5 Release Date: Nov. 2
  • Season 2 Episode 6 Release Date: Nov. 9

Originally, Disney Plus was set to release new episodes of Loki every Friday; however, the streaming service shook things up when it decided to release Loki in primetime with new episodes instead releasing on Thursday at 9/8c.

This release schedule seems to be paying off for Disney as the second season of the show has been getting a lot of love from audiences and critics alike. Given the success the primetime release strategy has been bringing the series, we wouldn’t be surprised if Disney Plus continued to drop episodes of its biggest series in the primetime hours.
