All 13 deaths in The Fall of the House of Usher ranked from worst to best
12. Lenore
Amidst a family tree that’s more twisted than a pretzel, our girl managed to beat the statistics and come out a good Usher. Honestly, given the wild bunch she was born into, that’s a huge accomplishment – especially looking at how her father, Frederick Usher, behaves.
Drugs, crime, lies, violence, spousal abuse – he’s got quite the charm. We can absolutely tip our hats to her mom, Morrie, for that. Granted, Morrie isn’t perfect – she attended Prospero’s exclusive little party, and just barely survived to tell the tale.
The show’s running theme hits you in the face as Verna talks with Lenore about how it’s such a shame that she also has to die for being part of the Usher family: younger generations paying the price for their ancestors’ mess-ups. If that doesn’t ring with how life really is, then I don’t know what doesn’t. As unfair as it is, Lenore is an Usher and as she is an Usher, her life must also end when the entire House falls. Even Verna, icy heart and all, couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret as she cut to the chase and took sweet Lenore to hopefully a much better place.
This sweet child didn’t deserve it.
