Kiernan Shipka

One of the lesser-known actresses on this list, Kieran Shipka has been working in the entertainment industry from a young age, with one of her most notable early roles being Don and Betty’s daughter Sally Draper in Mad Men. The 23-year-old American actress has proven herself to be incredibly talented in the years since, appearing in a wide range of genres.

As for television, Shipka is also well-known for playing Sabrina in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a role she reprised in The CW’s Riverdale for a couple of episodes. She’s appeared in Flowers in the Attic, Feud: Bette and Joan, and more recently, The Other Two and White House Plumbers.

Similar to Ortega, Shipka has become recognizable for her work in the horror genre, appearing in the movies Carriers, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, and The Silence. This fall, she starred in the Amazon Prime Video original movie Totally Killer, in which her character goes back in time to stop a serial killer from murdering her mom. The horror-comedy was a pleasant surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed Shipka’s performance.

Though Shipka hasn’t been nominated for Emmys or Golden Globes, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was in her future. She’s very strong in a leading role and has proven she fits in horror, which is perfect for the role of Laurie Strode in the Halloween series. She has a few titles listed as upcoming on her IMDb page, but they’re all in post-production, meaning she might just be free to film as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike ends.
