Batman’s cinematic sequels have been some of the best superhero movie sequels to grace the screen. But which of the DC hero’s legendary sequels is the best?

When it comes to superhero movies, no other hero has appeared in more blockbuster hits than The Dark Knight. Over the years, Batman has been at the center of twelve live-action movies from DC, with each Dark Knight story bringing its spin on the iconic hero and his famed rogue’s gallery.

The Caped Crusader has maintained a constant presence in theaters over the years with DC churning out some truly amazing superhero epics starring the character. While some films served as one-offs, many times DC decided to go back for seconds (and even thirds) by ordering sequels to many of the origin movies released over the years.

Some of these sequels managed to rank among the best superhero movies to ever hit theaters. Others… well, let’s just say there are a few sequels that fans are still trying to forget.

Of the four Batman movie sequels released over the years, The Dark Knight’s sequel record stands at an even 50/50 margin with two of the sequels being deemed misses by fans and the others being regarded as some of the best DC movies of all time. Exactly which sequels take the bottom spots and which get the honor of being the best of the best?

Throughout the next few slides, we’re ranking each of the Batman movie sequels beginning with a sequel that felt like a major misstep for the iconic hero.
