Batman/Catwoman: Gotham War concludes with the Dark Knight taking another hit to an already terrible couple of years.

Batman/Catwoman: Gotham War has come and gone. As expected, there was a final showdown between the heroes of Gotham City and their villains. Thanks to Vandal Savage, the villain had the advantage of acquiring Batman’s weapons. Too bad for them, Tim Drake knows everything about all of Batman’s tech. Once Drake entered the fight, the Bat Family took out all of the united villains and made it look easy. Meanwhile, Catwoman and Batman battled after Vandal Savage.

When the meteor that gave Vandal immortality crashed, he didn’t get the result he wanted. The power was different. Before he could escape, the meteor explodes with Catwoman and Vandal next to it. Since Selina Kyle survived the explosion, it’s likely that Vandal did as well. However, there’s no way the two of them won’t be changed.

There weren’t a lot of shocking things in Gotham War. As predicted, all of the goons that Selina and Red Hood trained have gone back to being henchmen. Riddler even contacted Batman to brag about it. Bruce Wayne apologized to Dick Grayson for the way he acted. And while Batman knows he was wrong, he’s not going to do anything about it. He’s stubborn like that. The one surprising part happened at the end of the issue.

Batman is Bruce Wayne

Not all of Selina’s trainees rejoined their former bosses. Some of them continued to use the skills they learned to rob the rich. On one of their jobs, a burglar breaks into Bruce Wayne’s penthouse. While he’s looking for things to steal, he discovers one of Bruce’s secret rooms and sees Batman’s mask. That means a random criminal knows Bruce Wayne’s secret.

There are more than a few villains that know Bruce Wayne is the Dark Knight. Most of them gain more by keeping it a secret or reminding Bruce that they know who he is. A random criminal is likely to use that information for money or to gain some sort of leverage. However, if they tell the wrong person, they’ll get killed before they can tell anyone else.

Of course, this would be bad. He’d have issues with the law and his enemies would attempt to track him down. The funny thing is thing is, after a period of distress, things will go back to normal. If he’s put on trial, Bruce won’t tell the authorities the identities of the people he’s worked with. That means the rest of the Bat Family would remain safe. And being hunted is nothing new for Bruce. He’d find ways to protect himself.

Furthermore, in the Injustice Universe, Bruce’s life went back to normal after his identity was leaked. Sure, there was a bit of a transition where things were rough. But eventually, everything returned to the way they previously were. He kept fighting crime and no one cared who he was.

With Bruce Wayne’s life getting worse, this would be the icing on the cake. That being said, this could be the start of things getting better.

None of the best superheroes stay down forever. At some point, Bruce will get his money back, the Bat Family will love him again, and the Dark Knight will be Gotham City’s protector. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to see how that happens.
