All 37 Arrowverse seasons ranked from worst to best
37. Arrow season 4
There simply aren’t enough words to describe what a decline in standard the fourth season of Arrow was. A cheesy, melodramatic and downright frustrating season of television, the show had completely lost its identity as the result of a series of poor creative choices and bad writing.
Felicity Smoak, the once lovable computer genius that aided Team Arrow in their missions, was now Oliver Queen’s romantic love interest. The show became all about the pair’s relationship, with the forced conflict dragging any compelling characters the show once had down with it. Felicity was only interested in making the kidnapping of Oliver’s son all about herself, and let’s not forget the infamous moment where she regains the ability to walk just so she could literally walk out on Oliver. An important storyline that could have raised awareness was instead wasted on this moment.
The show’s biggest sin was killing off the Black Canary, a disrespectful insult to the iconic character’s legacy and the comic book fans watching the show – which rightfully saw the ratings decline. There was no coming back from that, and even though Arrow eventually steadied out in terms of storytelling, the great show that it once was had died along with Laurel Lance.
